State polls: Aminuddin in four-cornered fight for Sikamat seat

SEREMBAN: Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun will be involved in a four-cornered fight for the Sikamat state seat.

The Negri Sembilan caretaker Mentri Besar is vying for his fourth term, and will be challenged by Perikatan Nasional's Ahmad Raihan Muhamad Hilal and independents Bujang Abu and Mohammed Hafiz Baharuddin.

Aminuddin, who is also Port Dickson MP, first won the seat in the 2008 general election.

In the last general election in 2018, Aminuddin was also involved in a four-cornered fight against candidates from Barisan Nasional, PAS and Bujang.

He then polled 9,832 votes as against Barisan's Syamsul Amri Ismail who polled 6,419, PAS- Rahim Yusof (1,331) and Bujang, who only got 15 votes and lost his deposit.

Incumbent Ampangan assemblyman Datuk Dr Mohamad Rafie Abdul Malek will be involved in a three-cornered fight for the Ampangan seat.

The former state industrialisation, investment, education and entrepreneurship committee chairman who won the seat on a PKR ticket previously, is now contesting as an independent as he was dropped by his party.

He will be challenged by Pakatan Harapan's Tengku Zamrah Tengku Sulaiman and Perikatan Nasional's Muhammad Ghazali Zainal Abidin.

Tengku Zamrah is Seremban PKR Wanita chief while Muhammad Ghazali is Gedong Lalang Bersatu branch head.

In the 2018 polls, Mohamad Rafie won the seat in a straight fight against Barisan's Datuk Abu Ubaidah Redza with a 1,360 vote majority.
